Virtual Medical Assistant

MD Revolution (MDR) is an innovative, rapid-growth, Virtual Care Management company that uniquely combines technology, services, and analytics to deliver scalable, digital care to patients. We create and manage patient care programs on behalf of hospitals and clinics to deliver Medicare’s Chronic Care Management (CCM) and Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) programs, as well as Behavioral Health Integration (BHI), population health programs, Annual Wellness Visits (AWV), and other digital health services.

Our Virtual Medical Assistants play a vital role in this new model of patient care delivery, by closely monitoring important health data of their patient population and communicating with, and caring for, patients on our digital care platform, RevUp. RevUp is used to manage patient-centered care plans, document and track clinical goals, and connect with patients using secure messaging, smartphone apps, and telephone conversations. MD Revolution’s RevUp Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) program uses digital devices to collect medical and other health data from patients, allowing us to follow up with patients and relay the collected health information directly to the patient’s provider. MDR’s clinical teams act as an extension of the provider’s office offering personalized support for patients, and allowing patients to guide their healthcare journey through the support and encouragement of a health coach.

Job responsibilities:

  • Guide patients through their personalized health program, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Establish goals and create an achievable care plan with patients
  • Work within scope of practice with direct report to MDR nurse managers
  • Evaluate, monitor, and teach patients to develop self-awareness with data obtained from mobile health kit devices and mobile health apps
  • Recognize situations that require the immediate attention of a provider and initiate escalation procedures when necessary
  • Communicate with patients via telephone, direct messaging, and online portal to discuss patient’s overall health and wellness
  • Learn, and effectively use, our RevUp software platform to deliver patient care


  • Current, active Medical Assistant or Certificate of completion of a Medical Assistant training program, or equivalent training and experience
  • 1-2 years of patient care experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organization, and communication skills required
  • Compassion and empathy for our patients. Establish and maintain a high level of trust while fostering feedback and collaboration. Comfortable leading one-on-one conversations with patients
  • Ability to work in an office setting in Solana Beach, CA, or from a home office
  • Ability to work virtually with teammates and supervisors
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong sense of ownership and initiative
  • Proficiency with software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Apple hardware
  • Spanish speaking required
  • 40-hour work week

Job Type: Full-time
